A One-woman Performance
July 5th - 7th. 8PM
Welcome to Parcours:
We have a shared human experience: we are born, we grow, we mature, and we return to the aether. The process of becoming who we are is a lifetime event -- Johanna is squeezing it into one joyful hour.
Come see a spirit, based in Johanna’s life, and inspired by Josephine Baker’s eccentric and playful performance style. Parcours (French for Journey) is brought to you in a reimagined Bohemian Folie Bergere set in the loading dock of the old Durham Fruit and Produce Company. Could there be a better place to invoke the Banana Skirt Goddess in the 21st Century South?!? Significant moments of our lifetimes are captured in 5 different performance art mediums, including Lyra.
Johanna says: "My entire existence as a performer has been an uphill battle, and I am not alone. Performers, rEvolutionaries, everyone struggling to find their paths and honor their passions, fight every day to realize their dreams. Come find some joy, meet some new folks and have a good time in July!"
Special Events Thursday and Saturday: Opening Night will be followed by a Jam Session with local musicians and artists. For an additional $5 you can hang out with the coolest free thinkers in Durham. All of the proceeds go to CNote Foundation. Saturday night’s performance will be preceded by a discussion at 7PM about integrating arts into our communities and sustaining authentic, creative experiences in the Triangle.
