About the event

A thought-provoking event is taking place at The Fruit in Durham as part of the 2024 Click! Photography Festival. The event will feature a panel discussion on depictions of suffering in art and theology, with distinguished panelists including RCWMS Artist-in-Residence MJ Sharp, Art Historian Elizabeth Howie, Theologian-in-Residence Racquel Gill, and RCWMS Founder and Director Jeanette Stokes.

MJ Sharp's powerful Terror Triptych will be on display, and she will engage in a dialogue with Elizabeth Howie about the work's significance. Racquel Gill will delve into foundational feminist theology texts, such as Phyllis Trible's Texts of Terror, in conversation with Jeanette Stokes.

The exhibit will be open to the public starting at 2:00 PM on Sunday, followed by the panel discussion at 2:30 PM. Audience participation and questions are warmly welcomed.
